Zones humides de l’étang de Méouze et vallée de la Méouzette

The upstream sector of the Etang de Méouze and the upper valley of the Méouzette are classified as ZNIEFF (Zones Naturelles d'Intérêt Ecologique, Faunistique et Floristique - Natural Zones of Ecological, Faunistic and Floristic Interest).Botanically, the area is home to species characteristic of peaty environments, such as cottongrass and drosera, while fauna includes otters and pearl mussels, both of which are of major heritage interest.
