It is one of the major buildings of our territory of Haute-Corrèze. From the top of its 120 meters, it stops the Dordogne, forming the fourth largest water reservoir in France, on the borders of Auvergne and Limousin. Inside, its plant supplies electricity to nearly 130,000 homes.
AND IF YOU DISCOVER THE BORT-LES-ORGUES DAM?
It’s now possible thanks to Tourisme Haute-Corrèze!
From April, Tourisme Haute-Corrèze invites visitors to enter the bowels of the dam, close to the turbines.
In this year 2023, the Tourist Office resumes the guided tours of the plant and the educational space EDF Odysselec, in partnership with EDF Hydro, thanks to the internal skills of our guide-lecturer and our mediators.
“Following the development of our Marketing department and with the end of the partnership with the former tourist operator of the site, EDF trusted us to take charge of the visits”, explains the director of Tourisme Haute-Corrèze, Sophie Bonnélie, who continues:
This is a real challenge for us!
Thus, from April 8 to November 4, the team of Tourism Haute-Corrèze will welcome visitors at the foot of the dam of Bort-les-Orgues for a unique immersion in this concrete mastodon.
